In May 1985, Annette graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Philadelphia University. Soon after graduation, Annette began her career in accounting when she joined the small public accounting firm, Jos. L. Maccarone and Co. It was here that she learned the many areas of corporate and individual taxes along with accounting systems and practices. She worked at JLM & Co for eleven years, which provided her with a knowledge base that helped her to succeed in her next career opportunity.
In February of 1996, Annette went to work as the senior tax accountant in the tax department at Binswanger; a full service real estate company headquartered in Center City Philadelphia. In the tax department at Binswanger, she gained experience in multi-state tax filing for both corporate and individuals and partnership, trust and gift tax returns as well as continuing to learn new accounting systems. Annette worked in the tax department until May 2000, at which point she was offered the corporate controller position.
As the corporate controller, she was responsible for the company?s general ledger, monthly and annual financial reports, certain cash management areas, general business insurance renewals and other accounting-finance-related functions. Annette was the corporate controller until January 2008, at which time she returned to work with Charlie, Frank and Mary Jane at Muracco & Liuzzi, PC.
Annette is a certified public accountant and a member of the PICPA.
Outside the office, Annette spends her time raising her four-year old son, Carlo. She has no doubt that being a mom, is her most challenging job. Her interests include spending time with her son, family and friends, traveling and reading.
