Charlie began his career in accounting in 1990 at Jos. L. Maccarone & Co. in Philadelphia, PA. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1994. In 2002, he was made a partner of that firm. In 2005, because of philosophical differences in approach, he decided to leave the firm and start his own accounting and consulting firm. He and Frank Liuzzi had the same idea and in November of 2005 started Muracco & Liuzzi PC.
Charlie's specialty is working with closely held businesses in their endeavors to make it to the next level. His approach of working one on one with small business owners is very different from traditional accounting firms and his clients value it. Although his approach is one of general knowledge, that help him as a coach and quarterback to the client, his focus towards fiscal management is what sets him apart from other non-accounting consultants. His day to day passion is to develop up and coming accountants into proactive, forward thinking consultants and to instill the consultant's way of thinking into each member of the office, from the partners to the assitants and even interns. After serving a 10 year term as President of the Sports Advisory Board to the Mayor of Washington Township, Charles founded Washington Township Field Hockey, which was eliminated from Middle School Programs due to budgetary cuts & currently serves as President of that board and coaches a team in that program. He is also involved with the NRG Group in Philadelphia, a networking group of business owners and business people with C-Level (Chief-Level) contacts. Charles is also a member of the CEO Think Tank, which is a group of business owners who come together to discuss issues in small business and how to solve them. Also, Charlie is a member of Quickbooks' Pro Advisors Program.
Charlie is married to Carol Muracco. Carol works three jobs - two of which are as controllers, one at Oscar's Carpet One and the other at Professional Edge Fishing, Inc. Her other job and a more important one is as mother and homemaker. Charlie and Carol have three girls. After finishing an illustrious field hockey career at the University of Maryland, Nicole Muracco graduated as a Broadcast Journalism Major. Nicole now works for Fox Sports South in Atlanta, Georgia. Morgan currently majors in Criminal Justice and plays soccer at Rowan University. Devin attends Washington Township High School, where she plays field hockey and is in the school's Drama Club. Charlie spends his free time with his family, volunteering as a travel soccer and softball coach and with various charitable organizations, watching sports (especially of his daughters) and playing poker.
